Lee Blessing's Pulitzer-nominated drama is based on real life Cold War negotiations in 1982. This compelling play centers on a Soviet and an American negotiator who have left the table for an informal walk in the woods on the outskirts of Geneva; ultimately forming a bond of mutual respect and understanding.

On Broadway and London's West End: A Walk in the Woods. Off-Broadway: Eleemosynary, Cobb, Thief River, Chesapeake and Down the Road -- plus Fortinbras, Lake Street Extension, Two Rooms, and the world premiere of Patient A, all in the 1992-93 Signature Theatre Season. Recent regional productions include Whores at the Contemporary American Theater Festival and Black Sheep at Florida Stage and Barrington Stage. Other plays include Going to St. Ives, Independence, Riches, Oldtimers Game, and Nice People Dancing to Country Music. Awards: The American Theatre Critics Association Award, the L.A. Drama Critics Award, the Great American Play Award, the Humanitas Award, and the George and Elisabeth Marton Award, among others. His plays have been nominated for Tony and Olivier Awards, as well as for the Pulitzer Prize. Mr. Blessing is the author of over twenty plays and screenplays. He currently resides in New York City.

Adrienne is thrilled to be returning to the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse stage. Playhouse regulars may remember her as Rose in FENCES or Fanny in OAK AND IVY. Adrienne’s most recent credits include Ana in THE CLEAN HOUSE, Barbara in LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE and Cardinia in CARDINIA’S CALLING. Off Broadway she has originated the roles of Countess Gewshwitz in Eric Bentley’s translation of THE FIRST LULU, Aglaya in Dave Fischelson’s adaptation of THE IDIOT, and Angeline in Barbara Lebow’s THE KEEPERS. Other New York and Regional credits include Clytemnestra in IPHIGENEIA AT AULIS, Alma in YELLOWMAN(Best Actress IRNE nomination), Goneril in KING LEAR, Andrea in the operetta AL FRESCO with Craig Lucas, Daisy in EATONVILLE with music by Wynton Marsalis, and Truvy in STEEL MAGNOLIAS.
