A Time To Act – Capital Campaign
The Board of Directors officially launched its capital campaign – A TIME TO ACT – in 2010 and the theater has begun extensive work on its historic home using funds raised thus far. The Board is actively seeking the rest of the funding to complete Phase One of the Campaign – the full restoration and renovation of The Vineyard Playhouse at 24 Church Street in downtown Vineyard Haven.

In 2011, thanks to grants from the Tisbury Community Preservation Committee and approved by the voters of the Town of Tisbury, we renovated three exterior sides of the building with all new windows, new clapboards and fresh paint. In addition, a sprinkler system was installed inside.
In 2012, thanks to the incredible generosity of private and foundation donors – especially Barbara A. Boch, The Swartz Foundation, Claudia Miller, Friederike and Jeremy Biggs, members of the Board of Directors and many, many others including the Dahl family – construction is underway to build a new two story addition onto the “fourth wall” at the back of the theater.
The most exciting news of 2011 was the announcement of the naming of the PATRICIA NEAL STAGE at The Vineyard Playhouse. Once all of our interior renovations are completed (target is 2014) there will be an official dedication of the new stage to Miss Neal.
